Have you always wanted to try printmaking, but didn't know where to start? This series of classes are ideal for those who have limited experience and want a taste of the varied and intricate art of printmaking. You can sign up for one or all 3 of these "hors d'oeuvre" classes.

There will be an instructor demo and hands-on assistance each week. Students will try introductory techniques for each of the following: relief, monotype, and intaglio. This will include carving, mixing and rolling ink, and making a successful print.

This class: Collagraph - learn how to make a simple intaglio plate by cutting away at the board. Ink is pushed into the grooves to reveal the design, and then printed on the press.

Other Classes in Series: Week 2: ReliefWeek 3: Monotype

These courses provide a great way to get a real sense of the art of printmaking, and to identify which direction to go next! Come have some fun in our new printmaking studio!
